Installing Tires on Split and Single Piece Hubs

Using a Press and Cone
Cones are inexpensive and most car tire places have a press. If you have a single piece hub and want to install an airless tire, then it can only be done with a cone and press. Call a car tire place, locate a press, then order tires and a cone. Make sure you get the dimensions of the wheel and tire right. Sometimes it makes more sense to get a new wheel that you can just slap on the vehicle because in reality, the hub doesn't add that much in cost. Using a cone and press makes sense if you have a bunch of wheels, otherwise it is probably more economical to get a complete wheel ready to go.
Car tire places have presses, call around

Using a Split Hub
The airless tire is like a donut getting squished between two hub halves. The tire must be compressed 15 - 25% of its width once the hub halves are put back together. If your hub is 2" across, then you need a tire with 2 1/2" Bead Width, If your hub is 3" wide then you need a tire that is at least 3 1/2" wide at the Bead. Use two longer bolts to draw the hub halves together when installing.
Longer bolts makes it easy, hub halves must be drawn tight, please check the width of the tire
