Dear Hugh,
It seems like now days it hard to find
someone with the knowledge to help you with situations that goes beyond
what the business service has on the shelf. I do believe you are an
exception. Today I received the three (3) tires for my Sun trike. They
sure look like that they will do the job. The tires were received in
excellent condition. I thank you so much for your help and quality
information that you gave to me and especially taking your time so as to
help me find the best tire for my trike and weight. I'm looking forward
to riding and getting some exercise. The doctor says that I have 150lbs.
to loose in the next year. The trike with the new tires will certainly
play a big part in seeing that through. Please feel free to
use this note as a recommendation from a satisfied customer.
Thank you

Well, Hugh, After nearly two years of riding on your Daytona tires,
riding 365 in St. Louis heat, humidity, cold, ice and such, potholes,
rough spots, curbs and all, my Daytona are still going strong. I weigh
about 190 pounds, and carry loads that vary from 2 to 15 pounds on my
daily work commutes. I feel no loss of speed or extra needed exertion,
except for mornings after sleepless nights and poor diet. But most of
all, no tire tools, no inner tubes, no stopping to check pressure, no
flats, no stopping who knows where and who knows when to fix and change
a flat from tacks, glass, nails and metal shards that invariably line
part of my county to city and back routes. Thanks. As I plan a new wheel
set after what, eight years of riding, my new Air Frees will continue to
carry me on my journey of positive social change. Bless thee

In May of this year I bought the
Daytona tires for my new Felt Hybrid and used them to ride
from San Francisco to Los Angeles in June. Couldn't be
happier with them. They performed well.

I must admit I was a little skeptical about purchasing tires with no air
in them. However I must admit they are the best tires I have ridden on
and give me a good feeling knowing I won't get side lined fixing a flat.
I would definitely recommend airless to anyone who hates flats . I work
with heavy trucks, and believe it I would like to see more tires go
airless. I'll be doing Cavins Challenge on my airless tires in two
weeks. 262 miles or 12 hours. Wish me luck.

I am a biker that rides over 13,000 miles a year. My previous tires were
the Conti Ultra 2000 and I used to have to replace the tires every 45
days or so. I heard about the airfree tires about a year ago and decided
to give them a try. I have only purchased one set of the LeMans Time
Trial and have accumulated over 8,000 miles on them and not a single
flat, I believe that I could still get at least another 2,000 miles out
of them. The ride seems to improve as the tires wear.

Hugh,
I received the tires just before going on vacation and put them on when
I got back. Have been riding on the Rainer Aqua Gliders for about a week
and LOVE them. I am a firm believer in the air free concept and switched
to the "other" (Gr--ntyre) tire about 3 years ago. I am a bike commuter
- I am not a serious rider but I was tired of having at least one flat
per month. After 3 years the "other" tires were gone - in fact the rear
tire had begun to disintegrate. Your tires and your warranty are far
superior.
The characteristics of your tire are much more like a regular tire with
air - the most important characteristics for me are comfort, riding ease
and coasting ability. Your tires are outstanding in all of these
characteristics. My commute is about 4 miles 1 way and is all street
with no hills. The ease with which I can peddle these tires is amazing
and they coast almost as far as the regular tires I used to ride. I am
really glad that I found these tires.

Hugh,
I've put about 150 miles on the Daytona Performance tires so far, and am
absolutely delighted with them! They are absolutely great - no problems,
and no discernable difference from the high-pressure, flat-prone air
tires I used before. My riding buddies are still suspicious about them,
but agree that not having to worry about flats and not having to carry
all the accessories (inner tube, pump, tire irons, patch kit) are a
definite plus.
Thanks so much for selling such a great product! I plan to order some
for my Rans Tailwind recumbent shortly.
Jim
Dear Hugh,
The tires have arrived and they look great. I want to thank you for the
interest you took in my situation, and how quickly and efficiently I was
helped.

Riding to work, I heard a strange noise. I pulled over to investigate.
Thinking I had broken a spoke, I checked there first...all ok. Spun the
wheel and heard the noise again. Watched and saw a nail hitting my brake
caliper. Trying to pull the nail out was quite a chore. Instead of a
pump, spare tubes, patch kits, etc, I'd recommend carrying a pair of
pliers to remove nails. This one was stuck straight in over an inch.

HI, Steven from Alaska here. I just test rode your tires. I just rode a
few blocks but found plenty of terrible stuff on the roads and trails to
damage regular tires; I had to do it just so I could laugh at the idea
of riding through thorns and broken glass! Thank you for all your help!
I love them!

GREAT!! They are everything you said they would be. I weigh a little
less than the 240 I weighed when I purchased these wonderful tires. I
can tell a slight difference in the weight , but it is very little. One
BIG difference is I DO NOT GET FLATS. Thanks for a great product. They
were a snap to put on.

I received the Teton tires yesterday (Feb 16th) and had no trouble
fitting them. It is a beautiful day here today and I have just tried the
tiress on road and dirt track. What an incredible product, I look
forward to many hours of enjoyable, puncture free cycling. Thanks for
all your help.
Yours gratefully,

Hi, I'm the guy who put the 95psi Teton All Terrain HP on the back of
his Vision R40 recumbent. The wide Teton certainly took the twitchyness
out of my Vision. The more I use it, the more I love it.

A few months ago I decided to commute to and from work on my recumbent
bicycle in order to get exercise, save money on transportation, and
reduce pollution. My efforts were hampered because my tires kept popping
about once per week due to glass on the road. The tremendous
inconvenience of blown tires made my bicycle too unreliable and I was
about to abandon the effort when I read a post to a discussion board
suggesting that I check out localhost. After looking at the offerings
from other tire manufacturers I was convinced that Air Free Tires had
created something new, unique, and practical. When I called to order a
pair of tires I was pleased by the helpful service I received trying to
find tires that fit my recumbent bicycle. After riding on Air Free Tires
for a while now the only difference I can tell from regular tires is
that they do not pop and I don't have to lug along a pump, tire levers,
patch kit, and extra tubes. A highlight of these tires' performance was
on a recent 150 mile bike tour. Dozens of cyclists were brought to a
halt by popped tires, but I was able to just keep pedaling.
P.S. The installation tool is definitely worth it.

"We imported into Thailand a set of airless tires for our older boys
racing bike. After visiting a couple of web-sites, we choose the Airfree
Tires Companies Product and ordered a set with an installation tool. We
received the set promptly and found them easy to install. Our son is
very happy with the tires and relieved that he does not have to carry a
lot of tire repair equipment around with him when biking upcountry. We
recommend the Airfree Tire Company to anyone interested in purchasing a
set of airfrees. Mr. Hugh Waters checked all of our order himself and we
have been trouble free since installing the tires on the bike."

Dear Hugh,
First of all, my apologies for not getting back with you sooner. My life
has taken some crazy (positive) twists lately, which are placing
tremendous demands on my already scarce time.
As I told you I was going to, I took the Air Free clad race bike up to
Lake Placid in late July to use as transportation while up there. I also
participated in the "Inaugural Unofficial Ironman USA Half Ironman Race"
- an invention of my own creation. There were a great many of us there,
not doing the race but volunteering, course marshalling, spectating,
etc., and I had 18 people signed up for the little unofficial race. I
went with the early group of 6 in order to get back in time for a course
marshall meeting.
To make this already long story short, I rode the bike course, 56 miles
through the Adirondack mountains around Lake Placid on the Air Frees. My
companions were astounded at them, and all said they were going to visit
your web site. I'd be curious if any did - as you and I discussed,
there's a certain amount of "tradition" associated with cycling, and
even though we triathletes distain roadies and consider ourselves a
breed apart, a certain amount of it permeates our culture as well.
The tires performed very well - I was uncertain how they'd handle in the
wet, but they seemed to be OK. We got drenched during the latter section
of the course, fortunately it wasn't very "technical" (downhills and/or
sharp corners), so I still don't know how they'll handle under
aggressive maneuvering in wet conditions. I strongly suspect I'll race
Ironman USA with them next summer.
They felt only a bit harsher than pneumatics - I suppose I could counter
this with a bit less "pseudo-PSI" - I think the ones I have now simulate
150 psi - which is harsh in itself!!

You can quote me on the following:
My Air Free tires have changed my life! My bicycle is my primary means
of transportation. A flat tire could make me late for work or an
appointment, or at the very least mean I didn't get any exercise on a
given day. I am so
grateful that somebody had the sense and courage to challenge the
flat-tire industry.

Ordered tires on 6/5-received tires and installation tool via UPS on
6/12. Installed tires on 6/13 and road tested. So far so good.
Temp in Phoenix area of Arizona about 109 degrees. Its nice not to have
to worry about getting a flat tire in this heat. Local bicycle shops
were no help-one told me not to ride in an area where I may get a
flat-sure ok-right. Biggest problem in this area is thorns and cactus
needles even in developed areas-yes I have several cactus plants in my
landscaping.. I now can take longer rides since I don't have to worry
about a flat and pushing my bike home. Being over 6 feet and over 250
pounds this is my exercise and my way of seeing beautiful Arizona-hot at
this time of year but us locals love it-no tourist in town.

I originally bought your tires in preparation for Y2K (ugh). I was
hoping that the worst case wouldn't occur, and thank God it didn't. Even
so, I wanted to have alternative transportation in case there was a
gasoline shortage. Little did I know that I would soon be riding my bike
to and from work while my car was in the shop for repairs. So for a few
weeks I cycled to work and was very satisfied with the tire. Because I
weigh over 200 pounds, I ordered the High Pressure tires. While they are
not as soft a ride as my pneumatic tires, they are nevertheless quite
satisfactory, and flat-proof to boot! I am glad that my unfounded Y2K
fears brought the Air Free tires to my bicycle.

I'm a big guy with a petite wife and we both ride hybrid mountain bikes,
mostly on the street but sometimes on hard packed trails and loose
gravel, boy was I surprised that you could get custom tires for your
weight and style of riding. I don't know if its my imagination or not
but my Schwinn Sierra sure seems to pedal easier and I don't have to
worry about a flat tire ever again, Air Free rules.....

Hi, I don't know if you remember me but my name is Steve
###. I purchased a pair of your tires a while back and at first there
was some mix up with my order going through so you all were extremely
cool enough to knock a few bucks off the price. For that I am extremely
grateful and appreciative. I just wanted to let you know that your
product is great and was worth the wait. Thank you very much for your
product. If you put out a news letter or something of the sort please
include my name. Thanks again.

Hello,
I saw the results of your survey . I was originally not real impressed
with the tires when I got mine. Now after a few hundred miles I am
liking them better all the time. They used to stick a little to the
pavement but that has gone away now and I also like riding right through
glass and not worrying about the extra weight of the pump or supplies.
Yes, my opinion of the tires has improved so much that I will get my
next pair here also. Try not to get the price too high though. Air Free
tires on my 700x35 hybrid bike. Thanks

To Whom it May Concern
Since mid January I have been riding on a pair of your hundred pound
road tires. I ride fifty to sixty miles each and every day in the
Seattle area which exposes my equipment to rather harsh treatment. I
must say that I am overwhelmed by your product. I had seen your ad in
our local sports magazine back in September, and although I was
interested, I held out from ordering because I hadn't heard anyone
talking about them or seen them in any local shops. After a week of near
daily flats, I finally took the plunge , and it's been heaven ever
since: no pumps, spare tubes, patch kits and no flats. I like the lively
feel of your rubber and have no problems whatsoever with traction. I do
most of my riding in the morning, and its wonderful not to be concerned
about a flat tire making me late for work.
Last week I put your tires through an especially rough ordeal. I was
riding along a country road early in the morning at about twenty miles
per hour. An oncoming motorist was passing someone across a double
yellow line and hit me head on while going 50 mph. Through some miracle
I was able to walk away from the accident. Although my beloved
Cannondale was reduced to shards of aluminum and steel, and the front
wheel was in five pieces, your tires were as good as new. I found myself
installing them on my new Cannondale that evening, and riding on them
again the next morning. I am very pleased with these things.
